Litigation Paralegal

Job Summary: The Litigation Paralegal works as a liaison between clients and a national network of attorneys related to commercial collections matters. This position provides status updates and answers questions for clients, and coordinates with attorneys throughout the litigation and post-judgment stages.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a liaison between clients and a national network of attorneys
  • Maintains independent portfolio of cases
  • Corresponds with clients and attorneys via phone, email, and online portals to provide case updates and gather information
  • Reviews attorney and client information and provides feedback
  • Generates and reviews reports to communicate with clients and attorneys
  • Conducts jurisdiction-specific research and educates coworkers on findings
  • Reviews documentation (affidavits, complaints, settlement agreements, releases, waivers, etc.) for accuracy and makes or suggests revisions as necessary
  • Reviews attorney invoicing and client billing
  • Monitors the litigation and post-judgment processes to ensure efficient and effective outcomes
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, experience, certifications:

  • Associate’s degree or paralegal certificate required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Four or more years of experience in a professional legal setting

Physical and mental demands:

  • Frequent typing and use of keyboard/mouse
  • Prolonged sitting while viewing a computer monitor
  • Near visual acuity
  • Ability to present information clearly and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to management, clients, and other staff members
